Ball J

Ball J (born Albert Serebo Ayeh-Hanson on 8 November 1984 in Accra, Ghana) is a multi-dimensional force in African music: rapper, producer, sound-engineer and entrepreneur.

His early exposure to hip hop in both Ghana and time spent in California shaped his sonic vision—blending Ghanaian rhythm, GH-Rap heritage and global production sensibilities.

From his beginnings with the seminal campus group Skillions (while at PRESEC Legon) to founding his own imprint, Nu Afrika Records, Ball J has left a mark across genres.
His beat signature—“Weiyɛ Ball J Beat”—is now emblematic of sophistication and impact in production.

As an architect of hits, his credits include genre-defining records such as Lapaz Toyota with Guru which helped bring him and the Ghanaian music scene to a broader audience.
Beyond music, Ball J has worked with over 300 companies in brand, jingle and event spaces—underscoring his entrepreneurial range.

Now aligned with Sons of Destiny Records, Ball J is positioned to continue his legacy—not just as a beat-maker or rapper, but as a mentor, curator and sonic innovator ready to push West African music into the future. Expect projects that connect Ghana, the UK and beyond—rooted in culture, elevated by production, and built for global impact.
